Thank you,
Lei hace unos dias tu e-mail. Edgar
This is very disturbing reading. I remember when I was at university reading about the kidnappings of innocent people and political activists in parts of Central and South America. I hope the situation in Guatemala has improved. It never ceased to distress me reading about such disappearances and acts of torture on innocent citizens. I will light a candle and hope that whatever has happened, your bother did not have to suffer or come to great harm.
A reflection - Soul candle
This is really beautiful, to see how people reach out from their different places in life to celebrate the life of a person. In the Jewish tradition we light candles when someone dies or it the time of year they did, it's called "soul candle" and meant to help the soul of the person who died to go to a higher level in the sky. the "soul candles" are defined as such and you can just use any candle.
What I really love here is first, the variety, that as i said earlier, makes me feel that people from so many different places reach out to be part or remembering him and supporting you, but even more, it made me look at lighting candles in a different way - for me it was always about remembering a person, not with elevating their souls, but when i saw these pictures it made me think about a presence- lighted candles have a special almost tangible presence (beyond the matter of the candle) that can be in a way transformed to the person who is no longer present. i don't know .. now that i think about it its quite obvious, but i never so particularly thought about it that way, so thank you for that.
I have a younger brother, we are close, although he lives in Israel. I can't imagine losing him. I simply can't. I can see how living in a place that took hm away, is simply not an option.
